If you don’t know how to unfollow everyone on TikTok, you’re not alone, it’s one of the most common questions I see in my inbox.
It’s a beneficial method that allows you to filter through the people you follow and only view their stories if you want to see them.
Because when you follow a TikTok user, all their videos, stories, and reels appear on your home screen, giving you the ability to have full access to the user’s video.
However, there are a few ways to do this (unfollow) without spending hours upon hours manually unfollowing each person who isn’t your friend.
You can also decide to unfollow someone on TikTok because they step on your toes by posting what you are not interested in, and their posts may become unentertaining.
Their videos and posts stop appearing on your home screen when you unfollow them.
How to Follow Someone on Tiktok
Step one: Launch the tiktok app
Make sure the TikTok app is installed on your phone. Once you’re sure it has been installed on your phone, click on the app to open it.
On the page, sign up for your TikTok account to fully access your TikTok profile.
Step two: Locate the account you wish to follow
There are two ways you can choose to locate the account you wish to unfollow.
It’s either you go to the search page by clicking on the icon below the homepage or your follower’s page, which can be found on your profile.
Using the search icon:
Click on the icon below the home screen to direct you to the search page. On the search page, click on the search box, then type in the username of the user you wish to unfollow.
Using the follower’s page:
Using this method, click on the profile icon below the home screen page to go to your profile. Once on your profile page, click on following to search for the user you’re following and wish to unfollow. This method is lengthy and stressful, and I will recommend the first method.
Step three: Click on the user’s icon
After locating the user, you wish to unfollow, click on the user’s icon to access the person’s profile for further action toward unfollowing that person on TikTok.
Step four: Click Unfollow
On the user’s profile page, there is an icon indicating “Unfollow.” This icon means that you’re following this particular user already. Click on the “Unfollow’ button to unfollow the user.
Note: When you unfollow someone, the user will not get notified that you have unfollowed them. After clicking on unfollow, the “unfollow will disappear to prepare the next changes. Wait to see the changes “Follow.” This indicates that you have successfully unfollowed the user.
How to Unfollow Everyone on TikTok on Android and iOS
Many people wish to do this, but it is not possible. You’re shocked, right? Yes, you should be.
Although you can unfollow everyone on your TikTok account, you can’t unfollow everyone at once.
Since people tend to go for an easier option, unfortunately, that feature is not available on TikTok yet, where you unfollow everyone at once, but you can choose to unfollow everyone gradually, which will take a while.
Now, if you wish to risk unfollowing everyone on TikTok, I will guide you step by step.
Step 1: Go to your profile
Click on the profile icon below your home screen to go to your profile. Click on it, and you will be directed to your profile.
Step 2: Click on “Following”
Once you are on your TikTok profile page, you will see the “following icon,” which contains the number of people you are following.
Step Three: Start unfollowing one after the other till you get to the last on the list
On the following page, which shows everyone you’re following, start clicking on the unfollow icon to unfollow everyone one after the other till you get to the last person.
This is not a task that can be done at once; you have to start from one user, which may take a while to complete.
How to Follow Someone on TikTok on Android and iOS
You need to follow a specific amount of people to get entertaining content on your TikTok news feed.
The fewer people you follow, the fewer you will see and have access to. Therefore, it is advisable to follow your favorite TikTokers to get more entertaining on your home screen.
There are various ways you can choose to follow a TikTok user.
1. Follow While Viewing Their Contents
On the “for you” page, you get videos of popular TikTok users with different whereby you can choose to follow them to get more updates.
While watching a user’s content, there is a “+” sign below their profile picture, and when you click on the “Red +,” it means you follow that account.
And you can also click on the profile picture to see the profile, then click on follow to follow the person’s account.
2. Search for a User’s Name to Follow
You may have a celebrity you would like to follow on TikTok or a friend you know. Therefore, you can follow them by searching for the user’s username on the search box by clicking on the search icon and typing the user’s name in the search box.
Once you find the person’s profile, click on follow to follow the person’s account and get more updates from the person.
What happens when you Unfollow Someone on TikTok?
Once you unfollow someone on TikTok, you will stop seeing their posts and videos on your home screen.
The user you unfollow will not get notified that you unfollow them, and you will not get notified when the person posts new videos on their page.
What Happens When You Follow Someone on Tiktok
When you follow someone on TikTok, you are automatically subscribing to the person’s content. The user you follow on TikTok will also get notified that you followed when you follow them.
