WhatsApp sets to allow it’s users transfer money to each other via WhatsApp platform. It would make WhatsApp the latest app to have this services. It is only a beta version for now.

WhatsApp sets to allow it users transfer money to each other via a payment system known as UPI or unified payment interface which is a payment system run by the Reserve Bank of India. This confirms that the payment service would be coming to India first. WhatsApp has been recruiting payment experts which would give around 200 million users the ability to transfer money through the app .

Facebook which owns WhatsApp has offered the same opportunity on its stand alone messenger app since 2015. Apple has also been working on their peer to peer payment for it own iMessage app and it is expected to lunch with the iOS 11. WhatsApp recently said it would be adding a whole lot of new features after it reached daily users of one billion. Features like the ability to “unsend” messages which would let users recall messages sent within five minutes, offering a way to prevent embarrassment over mistaken texts.
