To be honest, we all have that one friend who is always very annoying with unnecessary posts on Instagram.
In May, Instagram announced that you will soon receive the ability to mute other users. When a user is muted, that user’s story and photos will no longer show up in your feed, but for all the user or person knows, you are still following them and everything is just okay. No drama. Muting an account is very handy if you do not want to upset a relative or friend, or even your boss by unfollowing their account, but just can’t put up with the constant workout or brunch photos, or whatever photo you may find annoying.
The feature has already been rolled out over a month ago.

In order to mute someone, tap on the three-dot icon located at the top-right corner of their post. A list of options will be displayed, one of which is to mute. You will then have the option to mute only photo posts, only story posts or both.
You can also mute someone by visiting their profile page or long pressing on their post either photo or story.
