The new Google Android 8.0 Oreo Os which is named after Oreo chocolate biscuits was released at 19:50 BST coincided with the solar eclipse visible on the East Coast of the United States.
The Oreo version adds a new “picture in picture”(pip) mode which Lets people watch videos in one corner of the screen while they use other apps. The Android 8.0 Oreo helps users to manage notifications on their devices. The Developers will now be able to split notifications into categories, helping people to block other unnecessary notifications. The previous version could only allow android users to allow or block all notifications from each app.

It would help limit how many system resources apps that are running in the background to save battery and reduce memory use of your mobile device.
It has instant apps which allow some services invoke parts of their android apps even if you have not installed them.
It also comes with a set of redesigned emojis that looks more like the ones seen in apple iOS.
However, Google’s phones, Nexus and Pixel is expected to be the first to receive the software update. It is now left to phone manufacturers to decide whether to make the new android 8.0 Oreo Os available to their existing devices.
