Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool’s playmaker, has officially handed in an application to be moved. According to Sky Sports, Coutinho is desperate seal a transfer to Barcelona come this summer and is tired of Liverpool playing hardball concerning the transfer.
Barcelona has seen two bids of £90million and £100million rejected by the Premier League side (Liverpool), who insisted that the 25-year-old player is not for sale.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, on Thursday, said that the player was priceless. “Liverpool is not a club that sells players. That is set in stone. So whatever the other club pays, in the end, doesn’t matter.”
“From a financial point of view, no price limit will let him go. No price at which we are ready to give in to.”
“Our aim is to have the best team possible, so we want to retain our guys and add new ones. That is our plan,” Klopp told Sky Sports Germany.
The Liverpool manager added, “Today, no player on the planet is untouchable, but a transfer is also a question of timing and if you have the chance and the need to respond to such a transfer.”
“You also have to ask if you have the time to respond, just because of one request of a particular club, we don’t have to think about that. We are not in that situation.”
